Fears

What is the thought that rises above the present?
And building fortifications in the mind and heart?
Basically, it's fear-based thinking.
However, in our true Nature,
There are only two real fears: fear of sudden noises and fear of falling.
All the others are nourished by the spirit,
All the others are creations of our minds.
In Assisi, there is no such thing as fear.
Only the eternal in the eternal.
We were here before, but we're here all the time, and now, and before, and after.
It's all happening now.
You have to pay attention here and now.
This is what it means to be on the path to Awakening.
Today's men and women are afraid to embark on the long path that leads to the destruction of suffering and its liberation.
But what have they got to lose?
They only risk melting away the source of fear and suffering.
Most men prefer to remain narrow-minded and selfish
Rather than lose them forever.
They think: "This is all I have and all I know. This is me."
But no, this isn't you!
These are just bad habits of thought, old wounds from the past.
The citadel you have built is crushing you every day
And every day you rebuild it to protect yourself even more.
All these castles overlooking mountains and forests
Aren't they ephemeral shelters to protect people from their fears?
Millions of tourists visit and admire them. It reassures them.
Everyone thinks they're safe, but death lurks at every heartbeat.
When the heart stops, what good are fortresses?

May the fires of wisdom rekindle in the hearts of countless beings
And may the great Mystery be revealed to them.
